The Solution
Staircare supplied Monadelphous with SC-R anti-slip plates with heavyduty
silicon oxide grit cut to size to form a walkway on the head chutes
steel roof. SC-R Plates were glued and screwed into 10mm
Staircare SC-R 70 have been designed to offer lasting slip resistance. They are made from a composite material that is suitable
for use in harsh environments; including, high exposure to salt water. During the manufacture process silicon carbide is
incorporated to form an inseparable gritted surface. SC-R 70 are available in yellow with UV protection and a heavy duty
silicon carbide anti slip grit for serious slip protection. SC-R 70 stair nosing have been slip resistance tested to AS586:2013 passing with the highest slip
resistance rating of Class P5 for Wet Pendulum Test and Class D1 for Dry Floor Friction Test.

The Situation
The Woodside Pluto LNG Offshore Platform is located about 190 Km
northwest of Karratha in Western Australia and required anti-slip protection
on steel grated stairs.
The Solution
Staircare supplied Monadelphous with SC-R70 #5 Grit heavy duty stair
nosing for installation on steel grated stairs utilising Staircare’s stainless
steel 316 saddle clip assemblies.
Staircare SC-R70 is suitable for use in the harshest environments. During
the manufacturing process silicon oxide is incorporated to form an
inseparable gritted surface.
Staircare supplied Monadelphous with 100 units of SC-R70 #5 grit within
one day of receiving the order. The treads were air freighted to the platform
and Monadelphous completed installation within a few days.
Over 1.2mm thick, fully welded,construction holds squareness for longer life, offering greater protection in a fire.
Durable lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish provides excellent chemical resistance.
Double wall construction with 1-1/2″ (38mm) insulating air space for fire resistance.
Fusible link assembly on self-closing models.
Non-sparking 3-Point Self-latching Doors.
2″(53mm) leakproof sill to contain leaks.
Full length, heavy-duty piano hinges.
Two 2″ vents with flash arrestors.
Static grounding connection.
Pvc tray on each galvanized steel shelf.
